Death & Deathcare

  • Ask a Mortician (YouTube) -- Caitlin Doughty's channel covering death history, famous corpses, and the funeral industry with warmth, humour, and a death-positive perspective. Start with her videos on Victorian mourning customs or the history of embalming -- they connect directly to the Deathcare Tradition section of this wiki.
  • Death in the Afternoon -- podcast exploring death culture, history, and practice. Good companion listening for the Victorian Spiritualism page.
  • Bone and Sickle -- hosted by rogue folklorist Al Ridenour and Sarah Chavez, this podcast covers historical folklore and horror with dramatic readings and richly produced soundscapes. Covers death customs, funerary traditions, and the macabre with genuine scholarship.

Witchcraft & Paganism

  • The Bell Witch Podcast -- hosted by Swailes from Yorkshire, covering modern witchcraft, herbalism, folklore, sigils, and paranormal investigations. • Missing Witches -- a feminist witchcraft podcast that profiles overlooked women in the history of the craft, from ecstatic mystics to activist herbalists. Also maintains a curated list of other witchy podcasts on their website.
  • DruidCast -- the podcast of the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids, hosted by Damh the Bard. Features poetry, song, interviews, and seasonal reflections from the Druid tradition. Good for the Celtic and nature-oriented threads of this wiki.
  • 3 Pagans and a Cat -- covers everything from grounding and shielding to sexuality in paganism, with good humour and enthusiastic research.

Folklore & History

  • Three Ravens -- Eleanor Conlon and Martin Vaux explore the folklore and history of English counties, then retell an ancient story from each one. Beautifully produced, in the top 1% of podcasts globally by 2024. Their bonus series Magic and Medicines (folk remedies and arcane spells) and Something Wicked (true crimes from folklore) are particularly relevant to this wiki.
  • The Folklore Podcast -- hosted by folklorist Mark Norman for over ten years, with expert interviews covering a huge range of folklore topics. A staple of the field.
  • Tales of Britain and Ireland -- Graeme Cooke retells myths, legends, and folktales from across Britain and Ireland, then discusses their origins and themes. Gentle, well-researched, and deeply enjoyable.
  • Folkways -- a stroll through the folklore of Britain and Ireland, covering music, psychogeography, and superstition. Each episode includes a mini-almanac for the month ahead.
  • The Faerie Folk -- an immersive audio journey through UK folklore, combining storytelling, historical deep-dives, and travel tips for visiting legendary locations.
  • Ghosts and Folklore of Wales -- hosted by Mark Rees, exploring ghost stories, Gothic tales, and the rich folklore of Wales and beyond.

Esoteric & Occult

  • Glitch Bottle -- podcast-style conversations focused on grimoire traditions, Solomonic magic, and ceremonial practice. Deep, serious, and well-regarded in the occult community.
  • Bone and Sickle -- also listed under Death above, but worth noting here for its frequent crossover into occult and folkloric territory.

YouTube Channels

  • Foolish Fish -- Denis Poisson reviews esoteric and occult books from independent publishers, including Black Letter Press (the publisher of your three books -- he published his own book Hidden Paths with them in 2023). His Esoteric Saturdays series is a regular highlight. If you're wondering what to read next from the esoteric bookshelf, start here.
  • Esoterica -- Dr Justin Sledge produces detailed, scholarly explorations of alchemy, Kabbalah, Hermeticism, mysticism, and the history of Western esotericism. Academic rigour made genuinely accessible and fascinating.
  • Angela's Symposium -- Dr Angela Puca covers magic, witchcraft, paganism, and esotericism from an academic perspective. Well-referenced and accessible, bridging the gap between scholarship and practice.

Documentaries & Film

  • A Year and a Day (2014) -- documentary following a woman's journey through Wiccan training. Intimate and non-sensational.
  • Häxan (1922) -- a silent-era Swedish-Danish film that dramatises the history of witchcraft and superstition. Visually extraordinary and still genuinely unsettling.
